Mark Chase
Seeing the grainy images of Jacques Cousteau on the black and white television in his parents living room during the 1970’s, Mark Chase was inspired to search out the mysteries of the deep for himself. This early appetite for the sea led him to snorkelling, which until his circumstances changed, allowed him to indulge in the joys of the underwater world.
Mark Chase began diving in 1989 while on honeymoon. The love he felt for his new wife was soon joined by a new passion – scuba diving.
One divorce later, Mark dived in the Maldives and re-discovered scuba. Soon he was on his way to deeper and more technical diving, meeting Paul R Marks, who would later do the trimix and Closed Circuit Rebreather training which has allowed Mark to progress far further than many would ever achieve.
2006 is a busy year for Mark, with dives planned with Team Delta in 2006, with 27 dives booked to explore unknown marks in the UK south cost waters.
Hanging on the shirt tails of the giants who are organizing and researching the new wrecks and learn as much as we possibly can. The experiences of this year will be recorded by Mark in articles for Travel Dive. Mark also hopes to get to grips with underwater video.
