“Ron is the founder the highly respected technical diving magazines “Beyond The Blue” and “990 UK Diving In Depth”. His first dip beneath the waves was on a family holiday in Spain where the lure of the deep blue water would soon see him trained up to a BSAC 3rd Class Diver back in 1980.
In the mid 1990’s he met up with Richie Stevenson and (the sadly missed) Michael “Nobby” Norwood and started supporting this new breed of mixed-gas technical diver; initially writing and photographing their exploits for various diving magazines and then filming on both wreck and caves dives. In 1998 he set up the first UK magazine to report on advanced sport and technical diving which he ran until August 2003 when he set up Beyond The Blue.
In order to avoid ending up in the divorce courts he tries to keep his diving activity down to one or two main projects each season!”
