Helen Hadley
Helen started diving in 2001, two weeks before her university finals as a way to stop herself going utterly insane. Dragged along by a friend, she had little idea what she was getting herself into, and in hindsight, it might not have been such a good idea…
260 dives later and still just as hooked as she was back then. Initially trained by BSAC to dive leader standard, moving on to IANTD for Advanced Nitrox and finally GUE for DIR Fundamentals, she has dived all over the northern UK and can be described as a tek-ette.
Currently diving twin 12’s, wing and happy with stages, the future is looking squeaky. Helium is very likely to feature in her dives by this time next year. Veteran of three trips to Scapa Flow, one of which she organised herself and unfortunately got bent on (three chamber dives to sort that little mess out), many trips to Lochaline and countless trips to St Abbs. She is a dedicated cold-water diver. Learning to freedive is a new focus for her, as she seems to have a natural talent for it.
